As I had such an emotional ordeal yesterday, today I decided to treat myself to a posh lunch out so I went to a local restaurant and had a yummy omelette with mixed salad and washed it down with elderflower juice. It has got me wondering if carboydrate as opposed to protein only meals are helpful? Years ago I looked into the Food Combining Diet and it really made sense hmmmm….something else to ponder over. This was where for meals you eat either only protein or only carbohydrate and the body can allegedly assimilate things better, I can remember feeling more energised. But does it help MS? Who knows it seems that nothing does. Even the drugs the consultant wants to try only have a 33% chance of stopping relapses and the side effects are horrendous. But it also makes me so thankful we have all of these choices as people in less well developed countries are crying out for even antibiotics let alone all the sophisticated medicines we have over here. We complain too much we really do. At the moment I am feeling extremely well supported now surrounded by a doctor, consultant, nurse, speech therapist and a physiotherapist. Also more and more old friends, colleagues want to do the run on 7th Feb raising money for children’s charities and MS Society. Rob and me are going to be wearing the bright orange vests to promote the MS Society which my friend Carole has loaned to me. So lots of positive things are happening amidst all the debris.
positive thought for the day: never give up
